Gearing Up

So I am sure you think I fell off the face of the earth again right?

Nope. Just been very busy trying to get the house back together.

I have some good news and some bad.

Good news: We get to move back in this Thurs! In just over 2 months since the tornado, the house has been just about completely rebuilt. A few odds and ends after Thurs, but that is about it.

Bad news: I am SURE I have gained the "Tornado 20"(lbs). I dont have a scale, but clothes are tight. My once nicely fitting size 6 jeans now have dunlops disease over the waistband and are very hard to do up.

No worries though- I plan on kicking it back into high gear once we move back into the house. I have to! My sisters wedding is the end of July and I need to fit back into the dress.

More good news though- this past Sunday I completed my first 10k. I finished in about 1:15 BUT that of course was the 90 degree day and it didnt help that dust was being kicked up by passing cars. The race was for Girls On The Run (GOTR) and positions and times were not recorded. I did get a medal for completing the 10k! But my finishing time was 10 minutes over my personal record from running in the neighborhood. I ended up having to walk the last bit. It was SO hot that my heart rate was over 200 beats per minute. Not good. So I sacrificed time for my well being. LOL.

Also tonight I ran my first half marathon. I have the Dexter-Ann Arbor run coming up June 3rd and I have not trained for it at all. My longest distance before tonight was 6.2 miles so I wanted to make sure I could actually run a half marathon under the 3 hour limit. I did!!! I ran it in 2 hours, 46 minutes and some odd seconds. I also burned 1953 calories too.

I have to give major kudos to people who run marathons and half marathons. I think this will be my first and only half marathon if I even make it thru without getting picked up. That long of a distance isnt for me and my body has rebelled tonight. First the room was spinning like I was drunk. After eating a banana, which helped just a bit, my stomach started cramping and had me running to the bathroom. Then I ended up getting sick. Really not pretty. Now however, after about 90 minutes, my stomach is starting to calm down and so far I have kept down some dinner. If I complete the half, I will be getting one of those silly 13.1 stickers that you see on peoples bumpers. A well deserved sticker- I might add!

After the half marathon I plan on starting back on my fruit and veggie fast. Hopefully this helps kick start the weight loss and helps the weight come off quickly. I am disappointed in myself that I didnt stick to my normal diet and fell easily into eating fast foods and bad foods, but I really cant kick myself too badly when we travel an hour each way to the house and many times need to grab food on the road. I just know that come Thurs, it has to stop and I need to reign myself back in. It can be done! I did great with P90X before, and I will do it again.

Well that is the news for now. Gearing up for moving back into the house, gearing up for the half marathon and gearing up to get life back to normal!!

Hope everyone is doing great. I havent been able to follow my bloggers like I used to. Dont worry, that will change when life resumes to normal.
